I always get inspired by fantasy/sci-fi backgrounds I see around DA, cuz they're just so facinating to look at. Problem is that I hardly get the time to draw them. D: So I took advantage of my school assignment to practice them more
I rarely post my schoolwork on here, mainly cuz anything related to school kills my motivation, and as a result my work looks bleh. But I though this one looked pretty decent so why not. :'D
For my Basic 2-D design class, we had to draw the interior of something while still containing a frame of some sort. I choose a cave (totes creative rite?) and just painted whatever I felt like in the inside. xD Its a bit rushed cuz I wanted to get it done in time.
I call this place, Luminescent Cove, and the light in the middle burns the retinas of whoever dares enter this place. Its also an energy source. I might use this area for something later. :0
This is probably the first thing I've posted on here that didn't have some character in it lol.
I'd really like to practice doing these more so I might incorporate these otherworldy backgrounds in my future commissions/trades and such. (just warning you ahead of time ;D)
You call this crappy, get hit upside the head. I like this image it looks very well done for an assignment I do say, the place looks like a place of raw energy and the light that of suns. To me see this as a life source of a planet somewhere, I think I see a slight fractal lensing going on in the creation of the energy streams. I can see a few multiple concepts that look good with this kind background already hehe, well done.
